Viva La Lisboa

This still life is inspired by the beautiful collection of terracotta pots and plants found outside of a bright red door down a street in Lisbon when I was on holiday in September 2016.

This slightly more controlled painting captures the summery spirit and life i felt down this street and can be seen with my use of thick brush strokes and use of palette knives.

I love the energy on this 80cm x 60cm canvas. It is one of the few still life paintings I have created, though there are similarities to my method shown in the abstract work I usually produce, shown in the linear palette knife strokes.
