The Future is Uncertain

The Future is Uncertain

Created in 2016, this aptly named abstract painting reflected the uncertainty the future held by using chaotic and interspersed flicks and dribbles of paint, reflecting Pollock's methods but on a minimal level.

Little did I know just how uncertain the world would be by 2020!

Using my usual colour palette of greens and blues with a thick texture and moody grey and white background, I aimed to create a pleasing and detailed original abstract painting where the viewer finds something new at every glance.

This painting was on exhibition at the Pancakes and Booze art show in February 2017 and was on display at the Industville lighting showroom during January and February 2018.

The Futures is Uncertain measures 80cm x 60cm and uses oil paint, acrylic paint and pouring paints on a stretched cotton canvas.

The canvas is fixed within a black stained tray frame with external measurements of 83.5cm x 63.5cm. The frame creates a beautiful contrast against the paintings lighter composition.
